Farewell Farrah, Mays & Michael

In the past few days, shocking, "untimely" deaths have occurred.

Farrah Fawcett died of a rare cancer on Thursday.

Michael Jackson died suddenly Thursday afternoon.
And, sometime Saturday evening or early Sunday morning,
Billy Mays died. Whenever I saw a commercial with Billy Mays, I immediately thought of my dad. Billy was the type of Infomercial man who could coax my dad into buying that must-have gadget.
Like Michael's death, Billy May's ending has left many wondering
How did it happen??? WHY did it happen???
Each of these famous people died tragically and all seemed to die "before their time." Farrah was supposed to get married to her life-long love. Michael was to start that 50-city tour - his COMEBACK tour. Bill Mays had just survived a turbulent airplane ride only to die hours later. Yet, each of these "premature"deaths were no accident to God. Each one of us has an appointed time to die. My mom always told me, "Wanda, you can be sure of TWO THINGS in this life:
You've got to pay taxes AND everyone is going to die."
It doesn't matter HOW you start your life out.
We all know Michael had a transformation in his life. His outward appearance changed drastically throughout his 50 years. But, a transformation MUST take place WITHIN each person. The important transformation I'm referring to is a decision, a choice every person MUST make sometime throughout his/her life.
The choice I'm talking about is whether you are going to reject Jesus or accept Jesus.
How you decide is how you'll spend...

"Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us." Romans 8:34

He's interceding for those who have put their faith and trust in Jesus. Have you accepted Jesus personally?

I know who President Barack Obama is
but I don't know him personally. You may know Who Jesus is, but do you know Him personally?

Week in Review

Enjoying the Sunshine this Week???

I haven't blogged much this week because I've been busy doing "behind the scenes" work for our church's Vacation Bible School (VBS).

My dear hubby and I were 2 of the 4 leaders for the 5th & 6th Graders. I've really enjoyed it, but since VBS is Monday - Thursday...I've been quite exhausted!

When we drove home from church on Monday evening, I burst in tears before even leaving the parking lot. Clearly, I did WAY TOO MUCH. I was feeling it!

So, from Tuesday - Today, I've learned to "take it easy" at home so I don't cry a river on the way home! Guess what?!? The rest of the week has been CRY-FREE!!!!

All of this activity does make me feel like an OLD LADY!

In fact, I felt better last week than I do this week, BUT GOD IS GOOD!!!! There is light at the end of the tunnel....and that light just happens to be shining on the BEACH!!!!

My beautiful mom is driving me and my 2 bundles of JOY to the beach for the weekend! Ah! I heart her idea of pampering and taking care of me!
A HUGE THANK YOU to HER and ALL of the WONDERFUL PEOPLE looking out for me! (My hubby is one of those dear people)
And, for those wonderful caring ladies who have sent me cards, made meals, or have stopped to ask me how I feel, I dedicate these verses to YOU!

She looks well to the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and bless her; Her husband also, and he praises her, saying: "Many daughters have done nobly, But you excel them all." Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
Proverbs 31:27-30

Okay, I need to sign off before I fall asleeeeeeeeeppppp................

Update

"Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him."
Psalm 37:7

This is my anthem, I guess. Rest. Relax. Wait. Yup, I went to the Doctor's yesterday. I had to go early to fill out paperwork...2:40. I was finished in time for the appointment at 3:00. Of course, I wasn't called back into the examining room until 3:20. And, the doctor didn't come into until 3:45!

He lifted up my dress (groan) and determined that all of the blood is still inside the sheath of my rectus muscle. He said that I have AT LEAST 2 MORE WEEKS of doing NOTHING but R & R!!! I'm not sure what I was thinking but I was HOPING he'd say, "Oh, Wanda you can get back to doing whatever you want...get back to the gym! Have a fun workout. You'll feel like yourself again in a few days!"

I guess I'll catch up on some reading!
Good thing I heart reading!

And I'm most thankful that I was given the GO AHEAD to drive again!

I guess driving again is a GOOD thing, right?!!?

When compared to how I was doing even last week at this time, I'm doing LOTS better! I'm very thankful for that! My family & dear friends have really helped make this whole RECOVERY process a lot more delightful!

If the weather's right, you may find me looking like this...

Otherwise, I'll be feeling some Ca b i n F EE EE EE V V V V E R !!!!!

Happy Anniversary!

Happy 9th Anniversary
to my Love, my Sweetheart, my BEST FRIEND!

Our Wonderful Little Mellette Family

And, another SHOUT OUT to the best parents a girl could ever have, my parents...today also marks their anniversary...Happy 42nd Anniversary!

Aren't they the cutest?!!?

What a legacy!

This is the verse we asked our pastor to preach on during our wedding ceremony....
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!"
2 Corinthians 5:17

During the reception, everyone was given a little envelope that contained a sleeping butterfly. After my groom and I read a poem we wrote, everyone released their butterflies! It symbolized the new life we have in Christ and the new life we have as a couple. We asked the guests whenever they see these transformed creatures (butterflies) that they pray for us and our new life together.
It was such a joy to marry my best friend 9 years ago and what a blessing it was to come home from our honeymoon to find a letter from one of my hubby's friends. He wrote a detailed letter saying that as a result of our wedding, he came to know the Lord personally!
