Answered Prayer!

God always answers our prayers....sometimes it's "No", other times it's "Wait", but this time God answered, "YES!" We have a home in Montreal!  We're so excited!  The Mellette family is smiling EAR TO EAR!

Thank you for your prayers.  We certainly sense God's people praying!  Our home will be 2 blocks from Grace Church of Lasalle and 1/2 a block from the river AND a bird sanctuary.  Those of you who know our daughter, Morgan, know that she loves everything animal, so this is truly exciting!

Please rejoice with us and thank God for this "YES" answer to our prayers!

One hurdle down...two more to go...rental of our home and the last 20% of our support.  God's timing is perfect.  Looking forward to seeing how He'll answer these prayers, too!

A Tribute to a Great Man

Last Thursday, my Uncle Virg entered Heaven's gates.  After a quick trip to Big Creek, California to visit one of our supporting churches, we took a detour to attend my uncle's funeral in Archbold, Ohio.  The funeral was a beautiful tribute to a wonderful man.  After we got home to PA, I took a stroll down memory lane and found some ol' photos in my mom and dad's cabinets.  ENJOY!

Uncle Virgil Miller

Aunt Mary Ann must have taken this photo....the Miller & the Martins

Me and my sister, Jodi....Even back then I liked my dolls and cute clothes!

Our very first family with Morgan - I was crying in this picture because they only let me hold her for a moment before taking her to the NICU.  Oh, the memories!

My cousin, Dwayne, who is already in Heaven

My Uncle Virg and Aunt Mary - hard to believe Uncle Virg is in Heaven now, too.  Appreciate your prayers for my mom's only sister....dear Aunt Mary Ann!

On the Cusp of a Crisis

Four years ago as I was getting supper ready, I heard Chuck Colson on the radio speak about Quebec.  Recently, I found the broadcast.  Montreal, Quebec is our mission field and after you hear what Chuck has to say about it, you'll understand why Jerad and I are moving there to be missionaries.  Please listen - it's only 3 minutes long.

Summer Update

Mellette Moments
July 2012 - Lido Beach, Sarasota, Florida - Family Vacation
In May, Jerad resigned from his position at PA Counseling and entered the full-time job of deputation.  In June, I packed up my classroom at Lancaster County Christian School. Sniff, sniff.  I finished on a high note, though, as this 5th grade class was the best class I’ve taught in 12 years!  They threw a creative - and quite generous - send-off Canadian style celebration the last day of school for me.  I was so touched…lots of tears were shed!  Gabriel joyfully finished up 4th grade – which was probably his most challenging year thus far.  Perhaps his tough 4th grade experience will help make his transition to homeschooling - me, being his teacher - more enjoyable! Let’s hope!  Morgan was very sad to say good-bye to her 2nd grade class and her favorite teacher…she even named her new kitty, Ally Cat, after her teacher, Ally Horst!  Morgan had a very eventful year…she started the year off with a broken collarbone, then her heart surgery and she ended the year with a bicycle accident that gave her a concussion!  She also experienced the untimely death of one of her friend’s mom.  We’ve shed more tears this year, but our little tomboy is doing well overall.

Please pray for Gabriel & Morgan as they make the transition to a new culture, learn and new language AND as they make the adjustment to homeschooling

God is Working in Powerful Ways!

Stepping out in faith is an exciting way to live!  We have already seen God provide in amazing ways and we’re already anticipating how He’s going to provide for us in the near future.  We have put offers on 2 different homes in Montreal, but both were rejected.  It can be discouraging, but we know God will provide – in His perfect timing!  With each rejection, though, more accommodating homes have surfaced.  We want to live near the church so we can use our home for youth group, homeschool classes, mission teams, etc.
Please continue to pray for this need.
Thank you!
