Oh, Little Bear!

"A friend loves at all times.."
Proverbs 17:17

Little Bear must have sensed my belly has been hurting a little more than usual. Perhaps I overdid it at the beach and I'm feeling it now. I had such a good time at the beach, minus the sunburn. But, these past few days, my tummy has been a'hurtin'. Compared to how I was feeling last month, I've been doing better overall.

But, the other night, I was discouraged and just shedding a few salty ones - Will the swelling in my belly ever go down? Will I ever fell good enough to run around & exercise? When will I get back to "normal"? Just about to send out some invites to my Pity Party, my hottie hubby & I went upstairs...the kiddos were sleeping...when I saw what Little Bear did turned my frown upside down.

We walked into our bedroom and found Little Bear had put out our clothes for the next day with a special note for each of us...

This note for Daddy says,

"To: Daddy - Wake Me Up to Make You Coffee"

My special note says,
"To Mom: I Love You Mommy.
I Just Love You and Daddy"

The salty ones turned into TEARS of JOY!
Children truly are a BLESSING FROM THE LORD!

A Craft Show that Benefits a Worthy Cause

Mark Your Calendars....An exceptional
Christmas Craft Show
will be held this Fall at the Christian school where my children & most of my nieces & nephews attend. All of the proceeds will go to the Christian School. So, if you're crafty (in a good way) & are looking to spice up your summer with some craft-making, I'd love it if you'd donate your homemade treasures to our children's Christian School's CHRISTMAS CRAFT SHOW.

Since someone I very much admire (and am related to) is in charge of this
Christmas Craft Show
at our children's school, I was busy snapping photos at a
Craft Show on Saturday at the beach!
My dad treated my mom and me to this delightful craft show...that was an added treat!
A Craft Show that keeps the attention of my dad is a hit in my book!

Check out the adorable Mason jar shell lamp..so creative!

Do you see the
wooden anchor decorated with shells

- a definite beach house treasure!

Need I say more?

This stand was my favorite...check out the purses on the left...adorable.
Do you see an attractive bronze-colored woman making a purchase in the background?
That's my mom buying....

...a handy, most-creative wrap around towel

- NO NEED to worry about it falling...
it's held up with some hidden Velcro!

Also, at this stand was some reversable belts

And, to dress up your tank tops....

These
beautiful birdhouses
reminded me of
Christmas Craft Shows from Long Ago...

When I saw these plates,
I remembered my sisss...
I mean the lady who is in charge of this year's Craft Show at our kiddos' Christian School....
she's made many of these attractive plates before.
It's really not too difficult!

What a Surprise!!! A friend from our church at home was one of the exhibitors....
she makes the most amazing baskets!

Small spreaders, spoons for little dishes, etc. Cute, cute, cute

My children have hooded towels similar to these at home & they still use them...
these towels are their favorite!

Composition books dressed up as Journals - I could do this!

Not such a good picture - a lady just walked in my way...but you get the idea -
a homemade Growth Chart held up by an oversized clothespin!

This picture was of one of about 3 stands devoted to American Girl doll clothing. Unfortunately this was my least favorite of the 3 stands, but again, you get the idea.

Homemade Ornaments - I apologize for the poor photography

Homemade Soaps - hmmm, I wonder if they use the BEST OIL

(the oil my dad sells - hee hee)

Lastly, the stand that got the most attention...the HANDMADE BRACELETS

only 3 for $20 or $7 each....I couldn't resist...
actually, my Mom couldn't resist and I reaped the benefit of her nonresistance!
I really liked the treasure boxes they used to display their many bracelets.

Today's blog is full of pictures of projects that are pretty easy to create...did I wet your whistle? Are you interested in getting some crafts made & donating them to our school's CHRISTMAS CRAFT SHOW? Leave a comment if you'd like more information. THANK YOU for stopping by!

Vivid Reminders

These are some reminders - some sweet, some sour - that I was....well, REMINDED of while at the beach for a few days last week...

Children Make the World a Better Place.

Going Out for Breakfast is Always Delightful!

Going Out for Breakfast with
Nine Children
is ALWAYS
Entertaining!

Taking a Picture of 9 Grandkids,
a Man on Stilts, and
Getting Everyone to Look at the Camera at the SAME TIME
is
unrealistic!

Even Something Like
SITTING AROUND and WAITING
is More Fun with Children

Facepainting is Always FUN!

Cousins are Just SO Cute

Kids Day on Thursdays
at the Beach are Always
Celebrity-Filled

Nothing says fun like
B U M P E R C A R S !!!!

Again, EATING OUT is Always More Entertaining with
THIRTEEN PEOPLE

9 Children (Ages 4-13) + 4 Adult Women = Amusement
(Amusement for the other patrons, our waitor, onlookers, etc.)

I did NOT inherit my mother's beautiful bronze skin color.

And, here's something new I learned....
SPF 50 Sunblock does NOT work
with the pain meds I'm on...

(And, Yes...I was wearing SUNGLASSES when I fried myself sunny side up!)

Some 7-year-old Videography

This is simply hilarious! Our precious son - Little Bear - recorded Mommy singing at church on Sunday...you'll see his feet up on the pew, you'll hear him sing along to my song, you'll see him drop the camera, etc. It's priceless. He taped more than he needed but overall, he did very well for the very first time.

This is me singing at church...I groan seeing how heavy I look...I can hide my 3-pints of misplaced blood with some dresses...obviously, I didn't hide it so well with this dress. Oh, well.

Some of you have been asking how I'm feeling...it really depends on the day. By the time I got home from church on Sunday, I was pretty much done for the day. The doctors said the pain and irritation should go away by September, so I'm trying not to get discouraged...actually, I feel like I'm doing pretty well with that....I'm surrounded by such loving, understanding, helpful people. I have a loving Heavenly Father who is actively pursuing a love relationship with me...I'm so blessed! But, I do appreciate your prayers!

Disclaimer: The hottie with the guitar is my handsome hubby!

One More Highlight

I debated posting this terribly UNprofessional video...but, it's just too cool not to share! Maybe you can hold your computer monitor on its side so you can get the full effect.

Just a Few More...

Okay, I just can't resist to show you all in Blogland some more pictures from the wedding my hubby and I sang in last weekend.

Here's the groom saluting a Navy Seal
- a close friend of the Bride's -
who died serving our country.

Can you see the groom's reflection in the tombstone? Isn't that some great photography? Thanks to my sista!

More pictures from my wedding coordinator sister...

They travelled around in a trolley - isn't that such a neat idea?

Yep, that's 10 bridesmaids AND 10 groomsmen!!!

And some great photography by my mother...
