Head-On Collision!!!

My Monday morning was off to quite a jolt this morning as I was in a head-on collision with a BMW and - PRAISE GOD - I have NO injuries, just a broken car!

My first reaction to the lady who drove her car right into the front of me was

"Are you okay?"
Her response was,
"You shouldn't have been on your cell phone - you should have been paying attention!"

I told her "I indeed was paying attention...I had a GREEN light!" (I was on the phone with my eldest sister - she heard the whole crash - bless her heart!) By the way, in Pennsylvania it's not against the law to be on your cell phone.

The lady in the BMW claimed she had a green arrow to turn left. My word against hers. That just brought me to tears. She was clearly lying! I tried calling my hubby but he was at home with the kids and he was in the shower!!! Groan. I called the police and surprisingly someone had already phoned the police!

Three police cars and an ambulance came- I think there were some more people, too. I saw one guy with a bucket of kitty litter - I didn't know they use that stuff to cover up the glass and stuff...interesting. But, no passersby stopped.

When we drove our cars into a nearby grocery store parking lot, the male police officer spoke with me...he looked sooooo familiar...can you believe how God works??!?? The officer "happened" to be one of my classmates from Christian School!!!! He recognized me too then but commented that he couldn't be too friendly because he didn't want the lady to think he was being partial!

At this point, I was weepy...I mean, it's difficult to see someone driving right into you and breaking as hard as you can but being unable to avoid an accident. And, then when she lied about having a green arrow....that's when I broke down into tears.

That's when a dear lady from the school I work at drove over to where I was standing and gave me much encouragement! Her daughter recognized me and so her mom drove her to school and then she (the mom) drove back to me! How nice! A Christian sister in a time of need! Another Christian brother was driving his Lays Potato Chip truck into the grocery store parking lot where I was parked and gave me an encouraging wave, too! My hubby and our children drove to the scene and gave me their comfort, too. God is so good! Sending people just when I needed it!

Well, when the officers returned my insurance information and all that stuff, they said that the person who first phoned the accident into police was in the vehicle behind the BMW and said "The light was RED - the BMW was in the wrong!" Praise the LORD! The Truth had set me FREE! I'm so thankful!

The airbags didn't go off - I was going slow enough, I guess. But, right now my legs (calves) are hurting - I guess it's from breaking so hard. My stomach is a bit upset - but, as my sister so lovingly pointed out - I'm SO blessed that NO further damage occurred to my abs! Again, God is so good!

I'm taking the afternoon off to rest - emotionally and physically! I'm thinking the adrenaline has worn off! I'll close with the verse I read to my classes today - which was planned weeks ago - Psalm 46:1...so appropriate!

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

Aren't friends simply wonderful? You may be related to a friend by blood, or you may be related only by love. But, one things for sure...no matter what's going on in your life, a friend LOVES at ALL times! Thank God for friends - close by or far away...friends you see only once a year or friends you can get to see via only the Facebook connection.

Happy Saturday Morning to You

Good Morning! Today I wake to find my poison finally starting to clear up! Ah! What relief! I also wake up this morning to the delightful sounds of my dear little nephew giggling! We are enjoying a wonderful relaxing weekend in Montreal, Quebec with my hubby's brother and sister-in-law and nephew, as well as, my hubby's parents. The weather is crisp and a bit nippy but the sun is bright and sure to warm the day! We look forward to visiting Little Italy in downtown Montreal.
We thank God that we can zip to Montreal for a quick weekend trip to visit family while a dear dear friend can housesit and Rocky-sit (our little terror - our Beagle). God is so good!
How's your Saturday morning?!?

Something to Think About

My sister passed this along to me and I found it very interesting. Hope you enjoy it, too!
As you might remember,
The head of a company survived 9/11
because his son started kindergarten.

Another fellow was alive
Because it was His turn to bring donuts.

One woman was late because her
Alarm clock didn't go off in time.

One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike
Because of an auto accident.

One of them
Missed his bus.

One spilled food on her clothes and had to take
Time to change.

One's
Car wouldn't start.

One couldn't
Get a taxi.

The one that struck me was the man
Who put on a new pair of shoes that morning,
Took the various means to get to work
But before he got there, he developed
A blister on his foot...
He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid.
That is why he is alive today...

Now when I am
Stuck in traffic,
Miss an elevator,
Turn back to answer a ringing telephone ...
All the little things that annoy me...
I think to myself,
This is exactly where God wants me to be
At this very moment...

Next time your morning seems to be
Going wrong,
The children are slow getting dressed,
You can't seem to find the car keys,
You hit every traffic light,
Don't get mad or frustrated;

It
May be just that

God is at work watching over you.

Kindergarten, Second Grade & Poison

The weekend gives me time to blog...and I'm thankful for that. What else can one do when that one is covered in poison? Ah, yes...I have poison.

On Tuesday, Hubby had a most difficult day at work, but his evening was filled with something especially good - Men's Fraternity at Church...a time for Bible study and bonding. I was so glad he was able to go after such a miserable day. I was feeling okay...not topnotch but I feared it was the only evening to mow the yard - more rain coming...Could I bare to do the mowing? I decided I would at least try to tackle the job. Remember I haven't mowed at all this summer because of my lovely "little" belly issues...poor allergic-to-grass hubby has been filling in for me every week this summer. Could I attempt to mow? Why not try it? I mowed the front yard - it's a riding mower so I'm not exercising...I'm playing it safe. When I started to mow the backyard - the part of the yard that backs up to a park, I must have gotten in contact with some poison. Ick! My hubby came home soon after I started mowing the backyard and with only 20 minutes until he had to be at church, he finished the mowing for me. What a man! What if he hadn't rescued me...perhaps even more of my body would be covered in poison!!!

All that to say, I'm covered in poison. Yesterday the poison crept up my arm, in between my fingers, to my neck and this morning I woke up to some on my face! Double ick! So, as hubby is outside on a walk with our dear friends, I sit here doing what I do best...or what I enjoy doing best...writing!

Here's some adorable pics of my 2nd grader and kindergartner! Can't believe both of our children are in school now!
