Sunday March 21

Sunday, March 21, 2004....A day I'll never forget. I was 6 months pregnant. I was at church where my hubby was teaching an adult Sunday School class. I distinctly remember being overcome with the only ANTI-craving pregnancy woe I ever had: the smell of coffee. That smell could easily send me into a gagging reflexive. So, to avoid that sensation, I quietly excused myself and snuck into the Sunday School class my mom was teaching: Kindergarten.

A few minutes after I had "waddled" to her classroom, my mom's cell phone rang. My eldest sister was having her 4th & final child. An ultrasound earlier in her pregnancy said she was going to have a GIRL! It would be her 3rd girl. She was determined that even though it was her last child, she wasn't going to skimp on the birth announcement, so my sister had handmade the most adorable announcements. She had sewed precious little dresses that hung on a miniature wash line onto the front of each and every birth announcement. They were so sweet!

I so easily get sidetracked! Anyways, I said all that because when I heard my mom say "Josh" was their daughter's name, I was thinking that was the stupidest girl's name I had ever heard! When my mom got off the phone, that's when the REAL surprise graced my ears....my sister had a BOY, not a girl! Now that was a shocker! So much for having that 3rd daughter....they evened things out with Josh...2 girls and 2 boys! Nice!

I mean, how could they have messed that one up?!!!?
He's definitely a boy and we are all so glad!!!!

Here's a recent picture of the Pretty Little Princess and her best friend, her cousin, Josh.

So, today he turned SIX! Hard to believe my baby girl will be 6 in 3 short months! But, isn't it something how TODAY is SUNDAY, March 21...just like the day dear Josh was born. Another SUNDAY, March 21 that I'll never forget is....

Sunday, March 21, 1993...just six weeks before that eldest sister of mine was to get married. That Sunday it was just 2 days before I would turn 16! And, that was the day...Sunday, March 21, 1993 my parents surprised me with a 16th Birthday party. Unfortunately, that was also the day my grandfather was killed in a car accident - coming to my 16th birthday party.

I'll never tire of repeating that story...the joy restored on Sunday, March 21, 2004 when God refreshed that day with a most memorable gift...the gift of Josh! Seven years prior, God gave me my first niece on my 19th birthday.

Yep, I'll never stop telling that amazing story of how God turned a sad date of mourning and blessed me TWO TIMES over - once with the birth of my niece on my birthday and once with the birth of my nephew on the actual date of my grandfather's Homegoing.

God works in mysterious ways and His timing is PERFECT!

Little Bear Trying to Sing MeMa's Bedtime Some

Our children have had a number of sleepovers at MeMa & Pop-Pop's while I've been recovering and Little Bear gave me a little "impression" of MeMa's bedtime song....although he didn't get it quite right...and, then Pretty Little Princess had to join in on the fun!

When nighttime comes, and our prayers are said,

I got to sleep in my different colored bed.

And God takes care of me!

Apparently, at the very end of the song, MeMa tries to tickle the little ones. Little Bear said it's so cute how MeMa tries to tickle him!

Fun MEMORY BUILDING times!!!!

Unlike Me

My children never cease to amaze me. Oh, that Pretty Little Princess with her ability to never "hurt" for too long. Me, I'm the Queen of Drama! I can bring on tears full throttle! But, unlike me, even after a playground accident today at school, she seemed JUST FINE with a HUGE EGG on her forehead!

Do you see that EGG on her head?

My children love to pose for the camera,
but forget about actually LOOKING at the camera.
Hee hee

Then, there's Little Bear who - unlike me - never has to be told to practice his piano! He couldn't wait to show me today what he learned yesterday at his piano lesson! It's been almost a year since he's been playing....I hope this "wanting to practice" continues!

Praise God for Children who, at times, DO NOT act LIKE ME!!!

While I'm Recovering....

While I'm recovering from surgery, I have to share some highlights...
My parents generously gave a gift to each of my children to occupy my them and keep them busy. Here's the Pretty Little Princess working diligently on a Littlest Pet Shop puzzle and Little Bear working fervently on a Atlantis Lego figurine.

As for my Hottie Hubby, he kept busy cleaning and organizing some horrific kitchen cabinets. Here's some BEFORE and AFTER pics that he took to amuse me!

I highly recommend anyone still searching for "Mr. Right" to hold out for someone who treats you like a Queen. My Hottie Hubby was worth the wait.

Looking Forward with GREAT Anticipation

Ooooh! I just can't wait! I'm awaiting the arrival for my dear friend Michelle's newest addition to her precious family. Tomorrow is the day! Look at her here just a few weeks ago, all aglow. Truly she is a beautiful prego...hands down!

Children are a blessing from the Lord!!!
